The Labrum x Asics collaboration took place on the second day of  London Fashion Week Men’s (6 September 2018) and was such a great feast for the eyes.

The venue was laid out like an art exhibition. On canvasses around the room, there were large images that depicted the designer’s clothes. The standout image was a t-shirt emblazoned with the slogan “Made by an immigrant”.

The eagle-eyed among you will note that fashion designer Ashish took the world by storm when he wore a t-shirt with the slogan  “Immigrant” on it during his SS17 show at London Fashion Week.

The centre of the room had individual bright backdrops that would serve as stations for male models to stand on during the presentation. The presence of greenery made the setting Instagram-ready even before the models appeared.

The theme of the woven bags in the collection was “Freetown”. A nod to the capital city of Sierra Leone where the designer Foday Dumbuya hails from.

This was a seriously cool collection that utilised ethically sourced fabrics and (in a nod to being gender neutral) made handbags look very fitting on the gentlemen modelling the collection. Dumbuya did a great job customising the Asics trainers with a strip which read “the edge is in the details”.
